Announcing Clogapalooza 2009! Thanks to a unanimous club vote, the fun marches on...or should I say, the fun is double-toeing it's way into the 3rd annual clogging workshop, hosted by your very own Cherry City Cloggers!! Do you know that this is the time of year for clogging workshops? It's true! There are seven-plus opportunities for dancers from all over the region to share one dance floor at various Pacific Northwest locations. So expand your clogging experience by attending one or more clogging workshops this season. And we especially want to see you down at the fairgrounds this March for Clogapalooza!! Clogging is a folk dance that started in the Appalachian Mountains in the US. Settlers from different countries got together and shared the dance forms from their respective areas. From this grew clogging along with bluegrass music. Today we clog to all types of music: country, pop, gospel, or whatever else we like. We dance with taps on our shoes, so we make a fair amount of noise when we get going. Cherry City Cloggers is the largest clogging club in Oregon and possibly the Pacific Northwest. Our membership averages about 100 dancers. Instructors are Mary Bray and Cheri Posedel who make classes lots of FUN! You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader® to view our newsletters, cue sheets, and either Window Media Player or VLC media player to view the step videos.
